Misconduct by Lily Harlem - OUT TODAY!

Misconduct, book #6 in my Hot Ice series is out today from Ellora's Cave - please note, however, these books do not need to be read in order to be enjoyed.

Blurb

Manage the Vipers hockey team! Me? It seemed that was my role now. Shame a gorgeous, cocky-assed goaltender was testing my patience. Sweet cheeks, really, is that anyway to refer to your boss? Dustin “Speed” Reed certainly thought so.

It was okay, though, my billionaire father owned a paradise retreat for me to escape to, except, that is, until Dustin decided to jump on for the ride. Then the tension really heated up, hotter than the scorching midday sun.

I wanted to slap him and kiss him. Push him away and rip off his clothes. The feeling was mutual, anger a potent emotion when mixed with lust. I knew we shouldn’t. How could it end well? Especially when I was going give him the sack as soon as I pushed him out of it?

But where is the fun in having rules if no one ever breaks them? I for one, decided to take what I could, give what he wanted and worry about balancing the books tomorrow. My heart would be fine, wouldn’t it?

Also available from all other good ebook retailers, find Misconduct on my dedicated author pages.

Whether they try one jar or try them all, one thing’s for sure – with the Spice Rack around, sex will never be bland again.

Book One Decadence by Karen Stivali

In eight years of marriage, Eric Carlson has never forgotten to kiss his wife Jessica goodbye—until this morning. As Jessica runs her errands, all she can think about is the missing kiss. When Eric calls to tell her he thinks he left the toaster oven on, she rushes home, annoyed and afraid their house may be burning down. Instead of smoke and flames she finds Eric, looking hot and sexy as hell as he prepares fresh waffles.

Eric knows he and Jessica have been drifting apart. He’s bought the hot new product everyone’s talking about—the Spice Rack, guaranteed to spice up your love life. The jar he opens advises them to “Spend a decadent day indulging all your senses.” With the whole day ahead of them, a fridge full of tempting treats and the house to themselves for a change, that’s exactly what Eric intends to do—in the kitchen, on the washing machine, wherever the mood strikes. And Jessica’s got a super-steamy surprise for him too.

Book Two Love Plus One by Karen Booth

Olivia and Brian once had a sex life worth bragging about, but after nine years of marriage, the sizzle has fizzled. Longing to reclaim their passionate past, Olivia purchases The Spice Rack, an adult novelty item “guaranteed to spice up your love life”. A zealous first round of play prompts Brian to read their cue for next time—share your deepest fantasy and ask your partner to fulfill it.

Brian whisks Olivia off to Manhattan to pursue the fantasy he’s never revealed—another man pleasuring her while he watches. Olivia never imagined her husband was concocting this scenario in his handsome head, nor that he’d choose Michael, their smoking-hot college friend, to help him out. Venturing into uncharted waters, Brian must contend with a heady mix of jealousy and arousal while Olivia surrenders to a man who’s fired up to have his chance with her. When three becomes two again, Brian’s only desire is to reclaim his stake on his wife, and Olivia can’t wait to give him everything that’s his.

Book Three Joy Ride by Lily Harlem

Kimberly is desperate—muffling gasps of pleasure under the covers is just not doing it for her. She loves and desires her husband, but she needs more.

Could the Spice Rack picked up at a girly, wine-infused party be the solution? Anticipation floods her body as she opens the first “task”. What the…? How is “love on the move” going to spice up her sex life? It’s impossible, or so she thinks, because when a sudden sinful idea pops into her head she has to act, much to Nate’s delight.

Until they’re spotted, pulled over, hauled out and cuffed, and not in fluffy pink. They’re in for it, but the glint in Nate’s eye tells Kimberly he’s finally got her exactly where he wants her. It might feel like hell, but before she knows it she’s catapulted to a heavenly place she’s been longing to revisit. As long as they can get away with it.

I'm so excited about this awesome deal from my publisher MuseItUp. Today and Tomorrow only, January 25 & 26 if you purchase my Scottish Highlander historical romance The Devil Take You, directly from MuseItUp you will receive You Found Me FREE. YFM is also of the Scottish/British genre.

The Devil Take You is one of my absolute favourites out of the stories that I have penned. I not only enjoyed doing the research for the history that went into the story but I also surprised myself by creating an anti-hero, which is kind of rare in historical romance. I have also loved hearing from readers who enjoyed and reviewed this book and was tickled to find that I was not the only one who fell in love with Gard Marschand. I guess we all really do love a bad boy.

And another awesome little bonus; for a time The Devil Take You was an ARe Bestseller in the Romance>Scottish/Highlander eBooks category.

Are Best Seller

I also hope you enjoy You Found Me, which was my first book. The one that started my writing journey. It will always be special to me.

You Found Me

Injured, lost and alone, what more could a girl ask for than to be rescued by a roguish Scottish Laird and a proper English Duke?

Niall Lummisden of Clan Logan in Lomond, Scotland, is everything a roguish Scottish Laird should be. Dedicated to his clan. Friendly, easygoing, born with confident swagger, he is the complete antithesis to his English half-brother Marcus.

As the brothers travel to a royal engagement they discover a woman left for dead in the road, beaten beyond recognition. It is decreed by his Queen that Marcus must take the stranger back to his estate to recover from her injuries. The unidentified woman not only survives the vicious attack but, as she begins to heal and communicate, struggling to recall her life before they found her, both men are intrigued and attracted to her.

Good Guys Who Are Bad.....

Is it just me, or is there nothing sexier than a good guy who can act bad?

I mean really, it can’t just be me who has a shelf at home full of books who have Bad Boys returning home after time away. While they regularly still have their leather jackets and motorcycle, they’re now decent men who the heroine can turn to for help.  For me, it’s often hero’s who have spent time in the army or other military area, something that gives them discipline and opens their eyes to the greater world out there. But still, it’s a theme I find myself drawn to read in various forms over and over.

Also nowadays, the old-school heroine who needs rescuing (while I find she still sometimes has her place in my fiction reading) for the most part is outdated. I want a heroine who might need help, but she can certainly hold up her own end and not just stand there helplessly watching. Back in Seductive Tracks I introduced Melissa Geyton with complete innocence. My heroine in Seductive Tracks needed an outside source, a connection, and Melissa popped into my head and I used her readily. Little did I know how complicated a character she was. I was also surprised at just how loudly she started talking to me and how very stubborn and determined she was.

Needless to say, here I am, two books later writing about her.

Daniel is one of those strong, silent types. Don’t be fooled – we all know a man like him. Cliched as it is, he truly is one of those men who mightn’t say a lot, but when he opens that mouth and something comes out *everyone* stops to listen. Ignoring him is at your own peril. As Assassins, neither Melissa nor Daniel are sweet, innocent characters, both have their fair share of problems, history and baggage. But what I really love about them is each have managed to make their own rules, to find their own path in the world they find themselves in, and while it might appear each of them conforms, they do so on their own terms.

Nothing is sexier to me than a Bad Boy who can come good, be strong and edgy, but still find love in his heart. Daniel does this to a tee, and Melissa is no wimp, waiting idly by for him to come rescue her. I found these two characters to be wonderfully matched and hope you all do too!

Edge of Ecstasy ( http://www.ellorascave.com/edge-of-ecstasy.html  )  is being released today.  I hope you all enjoy Melissa and Daniel's story as much as I loved writing it. I always love hearing from readers so feel free to email me at elapthorne999@hotmail.com

Finally, thank you to the lovely Outrageous ladies for letting me take over the blog for a day. :)

Take Control: Stories of Male Domination/Female Submission

Over the past few years I've moved a fair way away from my writing roots as a complier of short sexy stories. I love writing erotic novels, but every now and then I like to go back to where it all began, and blast out a burst or two of instant kink.

When I began my career in smuttage I was lucky enough to work for the much missed Oysters and Chocolate. During my time with them I penned dozens of stories, four of which appear in my latest anthology. Published by 1001 NightsPress (the home of my incredibly kinky courier novella, Not Her Type), this fresh fantasy collection is called Take Control: Stories of Male Domination/Female Submission

Blurb
Take Control: Stories of Male Domination/Female Submission is a collection of toe curlingly sexy tales of bondage and female submission from the pen of best selling writer Kay Jaybee. From a spankingly delicious Dinner With Tess, to a Staged public sex fantasy, an unforgettable alfresco hosing in Deluged, a kinky scientific Experiment, and the realisation of a long held threesome fantasy in The Necklace, Take Control offers five bite sized stories that will satisfy any lover quality erotica.

Here's an extract from Dinner With Tess

Tess was aware she was being watched.
As she danced, she became increasingly self-conscious under the
scrutiny of the unknown man’s piercingly clear blue eyes.
Signalling through the deafening noise of the club’s heaving dance
floor, Tess managed to communicate to her friend Claire that she
wanted to sit down. Tess was sure that if she stopped dancing, the
man would find someone else on whom to focus his unnerving
attention.
She was wrong. He continued to observe her, unblinking, as
having purchased some much-needed refreshment, Tess and Claire
leant against the stainless steel rail that surrounded the club and
surveyed the throng cavorting before them.
‘Do you see that guy over there?’ Tess asked Claire as discreetly as
the musical din would allow. ‘No, don’t let him see you look! He’s been
watching me for ages.’
‘Lucky you!’ Claire ignored the worried edge to her friend’s voice
and grinned approvingly towards the tall, thick set, casually
handsome man, with penetrating blue eyes. ‘He’s gorgeous.’
‘A bit daunting, though, don’t you think?’
‘Daunting? Oh, Tess, honestly, live a little.’ Claire, who hadn’t a
cautious bone in her body, stared directly at the stranger. ‘If he’s
interested in you, go for it, have a fling. It looks as if he’d give you a
good time.’
‘Claire! Really! He’s way out of my league.’
‘Don’t be such a mouse! You’re a good-looking lass, smashing red
hair, cute little body. Relax a bit, will you?’
Tess risked a glance in the stranger’s direction. She felt her pulse
quicken anxiously as he noticed her furtive look, and with slow
purposeful movements, approached. When he told her his name was
Jon, and that he was going to buy her a drink, Tess’s mouth hadn’t
been able to find the words to say anything, so he’d simply gone and
fetched one anyway.
From that moment, she had been ensnared, hypnotised by Jon’s
strength, his quiet authority, and the promise of an undiscovered lust,
which seemed to reflect back at her from his deep shining eyes.
Tess had spent the early part of the morning in the kitchen. This
was to be the first time Jon introduced her to his friends, and Tess
had suggested she cook for them. A roast chicken perhaps?
Something warm and welcoming to greet them on their return from
the photography club meeting they were attending.
Jon had smiled his sexy smile and agreed that a trussed-up bird
sounded exactly like something they’d all appreciate. Tess had been
thrilled when he congratulated her idea by fucking her
unceremoniously against the kitchen door.
She’d never met anyone like him before. Jon seemed consumed by
lust, and, even though it had been almost a month since they’d met,
Tess still found it hard to believe she was the centre of his attention.
As he was obviously a dominant man, she had been quickly awarded
the role of submissive; and to her surprise, and perhaps aided by her
natural reticence, had discovered that she rather liked being told how
to behave, what to wear, and what to say.

Jon’s laughing voice echoed through the hallway and into the kitchen
as Tess went to greet his friends.
‘Here she is!’ Jon’s arm swept around his girlfriend. ‘Tess, meet
Jack and Ed, my friends from the club.’
‘Hello.’ She spoke clearly, trying to cover her shyness. As she
shook their hands, Tess couldn’t help feeling uncomfortable by the
way they looked at her. It was as if they were assessing her in some
way, and she suddenly felt very aware of the shortness of her denim
skirt and the thinness of her white cotton blouse.
‘Most lovely.’ Jack nodded approvingly at Jon.
‘She’ll do well.’ Ed’s eyes x-rayed Tess as he spoke.
A private shiver shot up Tess’s spine. Do well for what?...

Got Patience?

Okay, so, I’m gonna rant!

I’m teaching my daughter to drive. Let me start by saying, she’s not a bad little driver and is more logical and patient than the other two I’ve had the pleasure  and I use the term loosely of instructing.

This is my third. I think I’ve done my time.

My first two were boys. One who was just hell on wheels from the moment he sat behind the wheel and still is. And one who just couldn’t care less whether he learned to drive or not. In fact, my college man still hasn’t gone to get his licence and relies on family and friends to chauffer him around. I find it strange that he has no interest. When I was growing up, that’s what all the boys (and some of us girls) wanted, was the get their 365. That’s what we called it back then, here in Canada. The day they turned sixteen they were down at the MTO writing the written test. And I’m dating myself. We have a graduated licensing system now. And it’s just a pain in the backside. Lots of silly rules, regulations and restrictions. But I guess getting a licence is that first little bit of freedom and independence that we get a taste of and we crave that adult-like behaviour. First learn to drive and then it’s only a hop skip and jump to graduation; then see ya, mum and dad.

But my complaint today is with everybody else on the road. Everyone is in such a freakin’ hurry and have zero patience. As if my poor baby, isn’t white knuckled enough, worrying that she might hurt ‘daddy’s’ car, she’s worrying about the jack-wagon behind us, that’s tailgating or whipping out to pass her on a solid line or giving her a dirty look if she stops quick or shoots a little over the line at a light or a stop sign.

If it wouldn’t embarrass her to no end, I just want to put a sign in the back window:

Student driver on board. Please show some patience. Remember you had to learn once too.

And let me tell you, that’s a lot more polite than what I’m thinking when we’re out there. I just want to drag them out of the car by the neck and jack-wagon is the tamest expletive I would use.

And I know that I’m guilty of it too, I’m certain. If I’m in a hurry or aggravated in the first place, I’ve been known to pull up and get closer than I should; especially if I’ve been cut off. And not give a thought to who’s in the car up ahead or what their circumstance might be. Whether a student, a nervous driver, somebody’s grandma or grandpa or some poor sap just having a shitty day.

So, if you’re out and about (can you just hear my Canadian accent there) oot in aboot and someone annoys you or is in your way, just show a little patience, ‘cause you never know when that’s gonna be you or someone you love being harassed by the jack-wagons of the world. (Or perhaps, it's just me and I have zero patience) Na!

Take care, until next time,

H K
