Noah felt Oliver shift in his arms as if to pull away, but then he winced, bent his head, and leaned on Noah.

His eyes closed and his mouth only a sigh away from Oliver’s, he rested his forehead on Oliver’s and murmured, “I wanted to kiss you the other morning on the train. I’m sorry I hurt you, but not sorry I jumped on you, because I want you … want to know you … get to know you.”
Oliver stirred in his arms again and Noah opened his eyes.
Oliver placed a soft kiss on Noah’s mouth. “I … feel the same about you. I wanted the kiss—craved it, in fact. Noah, I should probably go home and check my bruises, get cleaned up—if the ride is still on offer.”
Noah forced himself from the languor of Oliver’s kiss. “What if you stay here and I’ll race off and bring my car back? I’ll only be a few minutes.”
“I’m really okay, just sort of achy.”
Noah shook his head. “I’d feel better if you rested here.” He left Oliver leaning against the wall and dashed along the street to his store’s delivery space. Happiness shielded him from the cold, foggy night. Lingering delight from Oliver’s kisses protected him from the fine rain that drenched everything. Elated, Noah sped back for Oliver. He turned up the heat in his car, parked in the no-parking zone, and helped Oliver into the passenger seat.
Oliver smiled at him in the dim glow of the streetlights. “Thank you.”
The seasonal fairy lights in the adjacent store window penetrated the fog with hazy dots of color. The drizzle put a ring of sparkles around Christmas lanterns hanging from the decorative rope lights strung across the streets. Noah leaned to Oliver and kissed him gently.
“Where do you live?”

“So what do I call you?” I asked him, wondering if I should be using ‘Your Majesty’ or a term of respect like that.
“I told you,” he said. “My name is Hades.”

The room was steeped in luxury, but his attention wasn’t on it; it was on me. In my normal, everyday life I might’ve questioned why, but in this land and in my dream, I merely took it as a compliment. We walked on through his castle, and when we reached another room, which seemed a more relaxed reception room, we sat down together at a wooden table.
It wasn’t lost on me that the castle was exceptionally well-kept, with tapestries decorating its walls, ornate chandeliers, and many beautiful relics and paintings from all over the world. It made me wonder when he had gathered them, if he’d done so himself, but my instincts told me he had. I could sense his touch on everything in our surroundings, even the castle itself. It truly felt like his realm.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked me, as he leaned forward over the table, steepling his fingers beneath his chin.
I shook my head, because it was hard to explain. “I’m just experiencing this—your castle, the world it’s in, Hades.”
His name felt strange as I spoke it, as though it held more power here than in the mortal world. I finally understood then that speaking his name had meaning, and there were many who might not have dared to speak it at all.
“This is the underworld,” he told me, as he regarded me with interest.
“I know,” I answered softly. Prior to meeting him, it had merely been a concept, but now I knew it was real, and I was here for a time. I glanced out the window. It was stained glass, and patterned in blues and greens, but I could tell that the day was growing darker outside. It seemed night was swiftly approaching.

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
One of my majors was in journalism at university (and I later studied a Masters in editing and publishing), and it improved my writing quality and speed. Around fifteen years ago, I got into text-based online roleplaying games, including freeform and system games. I GM’d games over the years: mainly 7th Sea and Serenity, but also other games like Legend of the Five Rings and Stargate. I think that time spent GMing and playing in games built up and improved my fiction-writing skills. I wrote my first book in 2015, and my first novel in 2016.
Tell us about your title featured in: A Cursed All Hallows’ Eve
‘Persephone’s Raven’ is a clean paranormal romance story mainly set during Halloween. It tells the story of Persephone, a student who lives at home with her family. She had party plans, but they were canceled and she was asked to take her younger sister, Deanna, trick or treating. While they’re out, she learns that someone might have seen a ghost in the window of a deserted house up the street, and she and Deanna check it out. The events of the evening lead her to meet a man who calls himself Hades.
How did you come up with the storyline?
I had the idea of writing a romantic story about a god and a human woman. I was originally going to make it a darker story than it is, but as it took form, it came out lighter. I had ideas in mind before I started, but I made it up as I went along. I’d best define myself as a plantser – kind of halfway between a planner and a pantser. I usually plot out a framework for longer stories and plan out early chapters in detail, but this was a shorter story at around 10k and I didn’t need to plan that much.
What inspires you to write?
I feel compelled to write and put stories out there. Ideas just come together in my head, but I’m very much a visual person, so I’ll usually create or buy a cover before I’ve even written a story. It’s part of the process for me. Sometimes images inspire me to write, but usually ideas do. I watch a lot of shows (mostly sci-fi) and the genre I’ve read most is epic fantasy. I feel like things I’ve really enjoyed inspire me to want to create things of my own that are (hopefully) equally epic.
Tell us about your other books:
I’m currently focusing on my A Paradox of Time series, which is time travel sci-fi. It’s probably my favourite series to write so far. I’ve written books 1 and 2, I have the prequel novella to write next (in that series), and I have covers created and bought up as far as Book 4 already. I’m just planning to keep writing books in that series for as long as I feel inspired to.
I’m also planning a new sci-fi vigilante series called Shadowstar Vigilantes. I have the first book (Red Astrea) on pre-order now and I’ve bought the cover for the second book (Octavia Rising) already.
I’m planning to write another book in my Sisters of Destiny series. It’s epic fantasy, and I currently have books 1 and 2 out.
I have other book plans too, but I’m just going to focus on these ones for the time being, because you can’t write everything at once.

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I released my first book in 2017. The story had been in my head for years and I guess I finally decided to listen and put it on paper. I’d already been a blogger for about four years so I knew a few basics about indie publishing and decided to take the leap.

Go Fang Yourself is a quirky look at twin sisters imbued with the essence of the Norse God, Odin and how they must save the world while dealing with life as eighteen year old college freshman.
How did you come up with the storyline?
Paranormal is by far my favorite genre to write because the only limits are those within your imagination. With enough creativity you can build whatever kind of world you want. Plus, I wanted to do something outside the box thus why I chose Norse mythology instead of Greek or Roman. It’s actually inspired by my nieces, Nicole and Ranissa two kick ass women who I’m very proud of.
What inspires you to write?
Movies, television, books, life. Everything around me sprouts ideas for new stories. Not all see the light of day but I’m always plotting.
Tell us about your other books:
My first foray is a series titled The Reigh Witch Chronicles. Four books centered around a mother and her daughters dealing with the discovery that they are witches.
Next, I took on fairytales. My fairytale fantasy series is all the stories we know such as Hercules, Snow White and Maleficent but I promise these are not the bedtime tales we grew up with. They are funny and full of steam with sassy women and smoking hot men.
Then I completely jumped ship and wrote a suspense thriller that will totally blow your mind. Ravyn is an absolute mind bender with a jaw dropping ending.
Currently I’m in working on the last in a New Adult/Second Chance Romance trilogy of standalone reads set in the small town of Seven Mile Forge. Wannabe More and Say You’ll Be There are filled with secrets, first love and redemption.

Why wasn’t he used to it by now? He should be glad there wasn’t upheaval. Then he’d feel obligated to get involved. Protect those needing protection. It was his neighborhood, after all. Humans were frailer than they realized.
Archer rested his fingers on the spots nearest his temple where his tension pulsated. It wasn’t as if the undead could feel their blood pressure rise but he knew from when he’d been alive years ago that those were the target areas. And who knew, anyway? Vampires had made great strides in evolving over the last few hundred years.
He was just frustrated.
He looked on from his balcony as the city slept. He didn’t care about the humans much—anymore—as he’d made a life of blood-in-a-bag or the occasional run in the nearby woods to satisfy the more basic, primal needs. He did, however, like to go mostly unnoticed among them and even had a human friend or two.
He wasn’t like the others anymore. He’d grown tired of the all-night bar life and the string of girls traipsing through his bedroom every night. He wanted to be a homebody, to be as normal as he could be and wished there were someone to share his never-ending life. He simply wasn’t attracted to any of the women like him. They had an air about them, like they were better than the rest, just because they were going to live forever.
And, unfortunately, searching for a life partner outside of his own species didn’t really constitute as a life partner. At least one that would live as long as him. And after so many years, the thought of turning someone no longer appealed to him, either. There were enough immortal in the world and who was to say it was his decision to make more.
So, basically…he was just complaining.
After a long intake of the night air, and a deep exhale, he turned to leave his balcony, same as every other night, he caught the smell. It was undeniably strong and unmistakable and gone again in a flash.
It was fear.
Not just your everyday fear though, but a shaking terror.
Another human perhaps? But why was this one calling to his inner immortal all of the sudden? He’d learned to block them out years ago. So why wasn’t it working now?
Struggling with the decision, he stood for several seconds with his back to the city, wondering if he should … deciding that he shouldn’t … but turning to look anyway. As his hands gripped the railing, the keen vampire night vision he’d been blessed with focused on the streets below. However, he saw no one. At this hour of the night, most humans were safely tucked away in their beds. Then why was it he couldn’t walk away?
He stood with his eyes closed to focus on the fear he could feel all the way to his soul. Its body shaking. Its heart beating erratically. Its quiet whimpers.

Krista: It’s my pleasure, thanks so much for having me!
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I suppose I’ve been dabbling at being a writer for 12 or 13 years now.
I was a heavy reader back then and after reading one of my favorite authors for the millionth time, I just decided that it was something I wanted to try so I did.
Tell us about your title featured in: A Cursed All Hallows’ Eve
My title is called DRAWN IN and it is about a vampire who had more or less become familiar with his unending existence even if it was a little lonely but then one Halloween night, there was something—different in the air…he could hear it even though there was no sound. He could sense something out there and he went in search of it…it had drawn him in.
It ended up being a piece of his existence he never knew he needed…and he couldn’t go on without her.
How did you come up with the storyline?
Honestly, I’m not sure how I came up with it. As with most of the stories I write, they just pop in my head from something I’ve seen or read or even watched.
What inspires you to write?
Lots of things inspire me, it’s not any one given thing. It could be a song or a movie, or even a sign along the road believe it or not. Just never know where it’ll come from.
