Her betrayal put him in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Now he's out and he wants revenge!
Once inside the small kitchen I went to the cupboard where I knew the fucking booze was kept. I grabbed the first bottle of unopened whisky and started to reach for a glass before deciding I didn’t need it. I fucking needed more than a shot to fuel me for what I wanted to do to Rosa. I couldn’t let her get to me. I wouldn’t. We may never have acted on our feelings for each other, but we both had known they were there.
Well, the time for acknowledgement had fucking lapsed. Her betrayal sealed her fate and I was ready to make her pay. I downed about three shots worth, letting the raw burn settling in my gut fuel my hate. Running the back of my hand across my mouth I headed for the bedroom where Rosa was locked up, thinking about her pretty face as she sat on the stand condemning me. Hearing her tearful words when she’d sworn that I had done the killing, and recalling the silent plea in her eyes as she stared at me. I understood then that she didn’t believe what she was saying, yet it hadn’t stopped her from lying.
I came to her door, turned the lock and opened it. Rosa turned from the window she’d been staring out of, tear tracks lining her smooth, olive toned cheeks. Even in her disheveled state she was fucking beautiful. Her midnight hair was shiny and half tumbling down to her shoulders. I let my gaze wander lazily down her full curves, taking in the slight changes since I’d seen her last. She was soft, and ripe, and I was going to devour her.
She took a hesitant step toward me. “How many men have you fucked Rosa?” I asked from the doorway. My question startled her and she halted abruptly. I could see the confusion shimmering in her eyes. Her brows furrowed. Those sweet, full lips parted as she opened her mouth to answer, only nothing came out.
“How many men have been between your legs in the last three years?” I snarled, baring my teeth. She stepped back against the window in fear.
She began to shake her head. “No one,” she whispered. “There’s been no one since—”
“I was locked up?”
Tears swelled in her fucking eyes. “Raze, I’m so sorry—”
“No!” I was on her before she could finish. “You don’t fuckin’ get to say sorry as if that will make it all go away,” I gritted into her upraised face, upraised because my hand was in her hair, pulling her head back so she was forced to look into my eyes. “Three fucking years, Rosa. For three fucking years your lies kept me behind bars, kept me from my club.” I swung her around and crushed her against the window, moving my mouth next to her ear. “Kept me from fucking.”
Keeping her pinned, I reached for the zipper at the top of her dress and pulled it all the way down her back. When it stopped at the top of her luscious ass I took the parted material in my hands and ripped it the rest of the way open until her whole fucking backside was exposed. I ignored her gasp, taking in the smooth slopes of her rounded ass, naked because of the thong she had on. Lust slammed into me like a freight train at the sight of all that curvy flesh. I wanted to squeeze it until she was branded with the imprint of my hand, leaving no doubt who she fucking belonged to.
How many times over the last decade had I imagined fucking Rosa?
“Then I guess we’re both overdo, “I grated into her ear. Not even trying to calm the lust surging through my blood.
“No, Raze, please. Not like this,” she begged. She tried to twist away.
I easily kept her where I wanted, not letting her tearful plea stop me from doing what I wanted.
“I had my reason for what I did,” Rosa said softly, her tone conveying a resigned sadness I wanted to ignore.
“So do I,” I snarled. “It was a life sentence, Rosa. Your lies put me in prison for life, with no chance of parole. You’re just lucky three years is all I lost, and now you’re gonna pay.”
Hi Jane, thank you for joining us on Outrageous today.
Can you start by telling us a little about your new book...
My latest release Mustang Wild is a contemporary Western with two characters with their flaws and demons. The heroine Aideen Shannon, is the local bad girl with an undeserved reputation who is less than thrilled to be returning ‘home’ after four years. She is sassy with something to prove and hides her scars behind a veneer of toughness. That stubbornness sets her on a collision course with rancher Bryce Carlisle (I’m a sucker for a tall, dark and handsome alpha) who she shares a complex past. Things never go smoothly as they butt heads and deny their mutual attraction the sparks more than fly, they soar! As if that isn’t the cherry on the cake, someone means Aideen harm and in a hostile town where friends are few, there are plenty of suspects. I had a lot of fun writing these characters and I’d like to probably revisit sometime in the future if I can construct another plot.
Was there something specific that inspired you?
The only thing I could pin point would be the beginning for my love of reading. I’m part of the Harry Potter generation and my love of reading took off when I found out when I could read faster than my mum and have devoured books ever since. As a result I have been writing on and off since the age of 11.
What was the hardest thing about writing this story?
In a nutshell, consistency of voice and being unable to write a straight forward plot line. I write in scenes and somehow stitch them all together. This makes it so easy for plot holes to creep in and I can develop writer’s block very easily. For example the book I’m currently working on, The Bride of Fire has the bare bones of plot but it's fuzzy in the middle and the characters desperately need fleshing out.
Do you have any quirky habits when writing?
Sometimes I see the scenes I’m writing in a musical theatrical style or a musical montage. I get a song that fits a scene or character’s feelings perfectly and I find it hard to translate that awesomeness into words when you can’t couple a book with a sound track. For example Nickleback, ‘Never Again’ fits a perfect part of Aideen back story.
What do you do in your spare time? Any adrenaline-rush hobbies?
Does netball count? I’be a keen netballer since a young age and love the game. But I have tried caving, kayaking, segwaying, abseiling, go karting - whoa may be I’ve done more than I realise. So I’ve tried one or two things but would like to keep adding to my list.
Just for kicks…
Tea or coffee?
Tea! Strange and wonderful teas, my favourite is lemon and honey green tea, which I’ve unfortunately nicknamed my wacky backy tea until I realised it probably wasn’t the appropriate for my office job.
Red or black?
Hmmmm, I have to go with red as I have a stunning red ‘Jessica Rabbit’ type dress hanging in my wardrobe so it might be a bit of a give away.
David Gandy or Chris Hemsworth?
Tough one! Typically I go for tall, dark, handsome and YUM! But there is just something about Chris Hemsworth…. Is this a trick question? Can I have both?
Swimming or mountain climbing?
Haha, I didn't have to pause for this one. Swimming all the way, I just don’t climb. I once did one of those go ape rope jungle things with zip wires. Yes - I’m the one who got stuck on the cargo net and had to be rescued and hoisted up on to the platform with everyone watching.
What do you have coming up next for readers?
At the moment I’m dipping my toe into the fantasy genre and working on a project called ‘The Bride of Fire’, it follows the trials of a Princess in exile who is always the ‘spare’ and never the heir. The challenge with this one is I’m thinking of changing up my writing style as the hero has to be a cold-hearted tool but a sexy redeemable one and I’m not sure I can show that successfully in first person.
I’m also on pinterest always looking for inspiration for my latest novels
Mustang Wild's Blurb
Four years ago Aideen Shannon ran. Turning her back on her home and Bryce Carlisle, the strong rugged rancher who broke her heart. Swearing she'd never return to a town that sees her as nothing but trouble, she's worked hard to rebuild her life. The sudden death of her stepfather drags her back kicking and screaming. She finds a once successful ranch run into the ground and Bryce Carlisle waiting for her.
Driven by the need to prove everyone wrong, Aideen digs her heels in determined to resurrect the once successful ranch. Her stubbornness sets her straight on a collision course with Bryce, who has no problem upending a certain hot tempered, sassy female over his knee.
But there is someone who is just as determined that Aideen doesn't succeed. Incidents start to happen and in a hostile town where friends are few, there are plenty of suspects. Can Bryce and Aideen overcome their mutual hostility and put the secrets and lies of the past to rest before it is too late?
"You know what, I've decided to enter the bull riding event and I'll send you a front row ticket." That did it. A man that big should not be able to move that fast but he managed. An arm of iron lifted me off the ground and pinned me against his hip. My ass pointed straight up in the air. He carried me, bringing his hand smartly down on my jeans shaking the dust off. Bryce paused and I twisted around to see what for. Great, he decided to pick up a switch. He pushed me over the rock, tugged my pants round my ankles and leaned over my back to keep me pinned. To add insult to injury, he plucked my knife from my sheath and started to shave it smooth. My own knife for Christ's sake.
"You want to call me on it, Aidie, that's fine but don't forget you might get the lickin' you've been asking for."
"I'm not asking for this!" I snarled wanting to kick and lash out at him but my jeans were wrapped too tight and caged me in. My buttocks twitched as he unexpectedly tapped the end of the switch against my left cheek. Tap, tap, tap. It moved its way down to the back of my thigh. Nothing. I waited a tense heartbeat, when it gently tapped the inside of my thigh I jumped out of my skin. I arched my back trying to buck but his hand kept me down. Cool air hit me between my legs as they snapped apart, the tingling causing my stomach to flutter. My inner muscles clenched and unclenched. The widening of my eyes had nothing to do with the first stroke as it had yet to land. I was getting turned on. The cool breeze licked every forbidden inch of my skin, the warmth of his hand on my back and the sun, it was an overload of sensation and I had revelled in the anticipation of the tapping.
"Sure you have." I hissed as the switch smartly connected in the crease where buttock met thigh. It snapped me rudely back to reality as heat seared along the fine line. I so had a screw loose to think this turned me on even for a second.
Author Bio
When I realised that the world was not hiring for a ‘sarcastic but benign Supreme Ruler of the Universe’ I’ve decided to focus on my passion. By day I work in a UK company’s finance department and by night I become my alter ego Scribble Girl. I have been writing never ending stories since the age of 11 and this all stemmed from my love of reading.
I love reading. Period.
I’m part of the Harry Potter generation and while waiting between books would literally devour any book I could get my hands on. Let’s put it this way J K Rowling has a lot to answer for.I adore that there is no end in sight to where your own imagination can take you. That between the pages of a book you are able to craft enchanted forests and castles, perilous quests, heroes and heroines from thin air. I will admit that I am a sucker for happy endings and will chalk that one up to my Mill & Boon phase.
So now my new goal is to take over the world one book at a time, happy reading!
Kd and I have been great friends for many years, and we are thrilled to have this chance to work together.

Fresh out of college, Lexi Wideman, lands a level entry job at a
lucrative recruiting firm. Only six months into her tenure, she’s
offered a major promotion—Executive assistant to Roger Kent, the
company’s coveted corporate headhunter. Older, irresistible, ruggedly
handsome, Roger Kent, turns her into a liquid pool of need with just one
smoldering glance but the opportunity is just too good to pass up, this
early in her career. Lexi must find a way to remain professional while
panting after her boss.
Roger Kent is thrown off guard when the company’s execs all of a
sudden decide he needs an assistant. Perhaps he does but Lexi Wideman is
not the girl for him. She’s smart, young and gorgeous. It’s hard enough
trying to keep his eyes off her. Working in such close proximity, day
after day, it would only be a matter of time before his hands followed.
So much for the No Frat Policy.
Excerpt:
The minute Ms. Wideman shut the door, I tossed my pen onto the conference room table. “I don’t know why you guys are browbeating me into this. What the hell do I need an assistant for?”
“Roger, we’ve talked about this. You are too busy now not to have a personal assistant. You’re accruing more clients by the day. As far as I’m concerned, the perfect candidate just walked out the door. We don’t need to continue with the process.” Ray Diamont screened the other execs, who all nodded in agreement.
Well, fuck!
“We’ve all watched it happen, Roger. Over the last six months, since Ms. Wideman joined the firm, the two of you have stepped up the game. You’re magic together. It just makes sense.”
“But don’t you see, you’re about to piss off half the employees who have been here for years. They’re going to revolt if you give Ms. Wideman this job. She hasn’t even been with us a year. She’s only just finished her six-month probationary period.”
“But she’s earned it, Roger,” my friend as well as associate Dave Portman said. “You have to admit it yourself.” Reluctantly, I nodded. “Everything else aside, she is the best person we have to fill the position as your PA. And that’s what we’re doing. We’re going to put the best person in that spot. It’s what we do on a daily basis. Why should it be any different for our own employees? No one else out there”— he pointed to the outer office — “fits as well as she does. You two have chemistry. I’ve watched you. We all have. It’s like she reads your mind. She has things done or in place and in your hands before you even ask. This is a no-brainer, Roger. I honestly don’t understand why you’re fighting us on this.”
“Well said, David. Shall we take a vote?” Ray Diamont asked.
All hands shot up but mine.
I exchanged a look with Dave and thought back to the first day Lexi Wideman had stepped into the office.
I’d been in the break room, watching the new recruits. I’d already introduced myself and we’d exchanged pleasantries.
“Something wrong, Roger? Not happy with your latest batch of acquisitions?” Dave had slapped me on the shoulder as he passed by on the way to the coffeepot.
“Not at all, it’s a promising crop,” I lied smoothly.
“Hey, isn’t this the group with your coveted Lexi in it? Which one is she?”
“The statuesque blonde on the right in blue.”
Dave observed the young woman, then turned his shrewd gaze back to me. “Huh, she’s not at all what I expected.”
Me either. And that was the problem.
The moment she’d walked into the room, she’d snagged my attention, even before I knew who she was. It was one of those instantaneous reactions that was purely physical.
It probably didn’t help that I knew so much about her. She’d impressed me from a professional standpoint for years. But now, matching the qualifications to the face, I found myself a little shell-shocked. Perhaps bringing her here to work for us wasn’t the best idea. Idiot me, I’d practically groomed her for this firm, handing her off to another employer before I got a chance to see if my impeccable instincts had done it once again. It just didn’t sit well.
Always looking for potential recruits, it was my hobby to scour the colleges and universities for quality stock. At the time, she was a sophomore, at the top of her class. I bookmarked her and kept tabs on her advancement. She came along exactly as I’d hoped, and the minute she graduated with honors, I made sure Locklin, Diamont, and Kent was the first place she applied fresh out of college. Even then, I knew she would be an asset to the firm.
“Have you decided what you’re going to do with her, Roger?”
“I’m going to put her through the admin pool, as I would any new acquisition.”
“Really? I’m surprised by that. I thought you had big plans for her.”
“We’ll see. She needs to prove herself. Just like everybody else.”
It didn’t take long though to realize Lexi was my go-to staffer. She was a go-getter, she went above and beyond in any task. For weeks, she was the only one I approached. Clearly intelligent, she learned quickly, and it took only a matter of days for her to assimilate to my specifications. We worked side by side, like a well-oiled machine, right up until the day I wanted to fire her on the spot.
My intuition of her on paper was purely cerebral. My first impression of her by appearance was entirely corporeal. It was physically working with her that made me realize I could have serious feelings for her, if I allowed myself to. If things stayed as they were and she remained in the admin pool, even with the strict no-fraternizing policy, I could possibly ask her out. If I became her boss, it was categorically out of the question. What made it all more difficult is that I was sure Miss Wideman was on the same page. We’d been dancing around each other for weeks trying to keep things professional.
“Hold up just a minute.” I called a halt to the proceedings before anything was set in stone. “Give me a minute.” I excused myself and hurried down the corridor.
“Ms. Wideman? Lexi?” She turned as I caught up to her.
“Are you sure you want this position?” I had to know once and for all.
She stared straight into my eyes and said, “Yes sir, I do.” There was no hesitation. She was committed. I guess it was all I needed. I appreciated her conviction and her drive. I admired it. And I would strive to be professional as well.
“Then the job is yours, Ms. Wideman. Congratulations.” I held out my hand.
Her lovely face lit. “Thank you, sir.” The minute she placed her small hand in mine and we were palm to palm, I knew I was fucked.
I left her there and barged back into the boardroom and said, “Motion carried.”
“Excellent,” Ray said. “Congratulations, Roger”
I sat in the high-backed black leather chair as the room cleared, except for Dave. He squeezed my shoulder. “It’s not a bad thing, Rodge. What’s up? I’ve never seen you like this. Everyone’s just trying to make life easier around here for you.”
“I’ve never asked for help. I can do my job.”
“Of course you can. There’s no question. You’re the best headhunter in the firm, hell, maybe in the entire country, but you can be even better with some assistance. Especially when you’re out on the road. Now tell me what’s really going on. I noticed you didn’t engage with Ms. Wideman at all. Is there a problem? If so, you should have spoken up before the vote.”
“No, there’s no problem. She’s just as qualified as the rest,” I said unemotionally, but I was anything but dispassionate when it came to Lexi Wideman.
“Well, that’s good then. Congratulations, Roger,” Dave said before exiting.
“Yay me,” I said to the empty room.
Working with Lexi so closely on a daily basis was going to be pure torture, and I didn’t need faultless intuition to know it.
Due for release on 14th February - but available for pre-order now, SPLICED is a series of four sexy shifter stories that will transport you to a whole new world.
When scientists mess with the most primitive elements of a man’s core, the results are bound to be explosive.

Which is why four experimented-on souls decide to break free from the chains that hold them, climb the fences that circle them, and go in search of adventure, passion and most of all, their mates.
But nothing worth having is ever easy, and for Sharkorilla, Pugorilla, Kangorilla and Elephorilla, this is definitely the case. They’ve come to the end of one very long, hard and frustrating road, but now, with the help of men who have big hearts, they must shed their fears, accept their bodies, and be true to the desires that burn within them. The only problem is, will they get away with it?
