One night in the Underworld will change things forever…

Demi, Persephone’s mother has developed a designer pomegranate, infusing it with her daughter’s blood. A single act of betrayal will craft war with the old gods and the Fae, leaving destruction in its wake. Persephone is drawn into a web of myth and magick where nothing is at it seems, even herself.

Excerpt:
Persephone took a breath. Her mouth was dry and her skin slick with sweat. She was thirsty. So thirsty. Her eyes wouldn’t focus, and her heart was racing.
“You look like you could use this.” A woman in a black mask and unbuttoned tux jacket approached, holding out a bottle of water. The white dress shirt was halfway open, straining against her breasts. Every movement tugged against the soft flesh, hinting at the bounty buried beneath the fabric. Vest unbuttoned over leather pants and kickass boots, she made Persephone’s breath catch in her throat. The woman’s black hair was slicked back into a tight bun, her red lips plump and succulent.
Hands shaking, Persephone took the bottle. “Thank you.” What is wrong with me?”
“This is your first rave, I take it?”
“Yes.” She drank the cool water, each swallow bringing her more clarity. Soon the bottle was drained and dangled empty in her grasp.
“It can be a little much when they turn on the purple wave. Here. Sit.” The masked woman led her to a chair. Large and white, it faced an enormous fireplace. Green fire burned within. Persephone fell into the chair, her dress spilling around her. She watched the green fire dance, marveling at the images unfolding. Her mind was still muzzy but she saw...no....
“Faces...there are faces,” she gasped, trying to push herself up from the chair.

Raven Pirate Assassin Spy- The Dream Cast by Landra Graf

Thank you to Outrageous Girls for hosting me today on my blog tour. I got my knickers in a twist pulling together this post. It’s really hard to find the perfect folks to play your characters in a movie. Due to photo restriction laws this post won’t include a bunch of wonder pictures, but I do have links to all the actors/actresses I’ve selected.

Main Characters:

Ian – Kyle Chandler
He’s best known for his roles in Early Edition and Friday Night Lights, but I believe he can pull off my bounty hunter with plenty of sarcasm and a touch of seriousness. Kyle knows how to play the dramatic side of things, too.

Sorella – Elizabeth Olsen
She’s made the big time thanks to her rounds at the Scarlet Witch, and I think with that long hair dyed black she’s got the chops to handle Sorella. Playing a strong female character shouldn’t be a problem either.

Secondary Characters:

Bastille – Richard T. Jones
This man is an awesome actor, and he’s dang good at supporting roles. He’d be perfect as first mate to Sorella. He’d also shine in getting in the action sequences.

Bonita – Evanna Lynch

Evanna did an amazing job in Harry Potter, but I think she has what it takes to handle a role as Sorella’s cook and maid. Plus, she’d get to learn Italian, one of the romantic languages.

Janken – Chiwetel Ejiofor
I love this man’s acting. Did anyone see him in Serenity? In 12 Years a Slave? His acting capabilities prove he’s aligned to taking on challenging roles. Playing an albino jazz musician running a prostitution and trafficking ring would be prettying difficult. This is character is not the most likable either.

Eva – Zoe Kravitz
She’s got the stature and the chops for a role that will require sultry and manipulative. I’m not 100% about her singing abilities, but she’s the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and I’m pretty sure she can rock out if needed.

That wraps my dream cast. What do you think? If you’ve been following the entire blog tour and reading excerpts, is there anything you think that might fit a certain role?

Book Blurb:

Once Upon A Time…

Sorella Corvino lost her brother to
The Cursed years ago. Sorella is so determined to find him, she’ll make any deal, rescue the outcasts and those like him, and risk flying into any port to rescue him. When her latest pirate efforts partner her with a bounty hunter who’s too charming, sexy, and handsome for his own good, she knows she’s in trouble.

Ian Marshall no longer believes in fairy tales…

Disowned and a marked criminal in the United States, this merchant turned bounty hunter, is one bounty away from freedom; and freedom’s price is handing over one person to the most cutthroat gang in the world,
The Cursed. Yet, he can’t get to them without Sorella’s help. Too bad she’s gorgeous, aggravating, and a little trigger happy.

As the attraction mounts, the danger grows and the pair find themselves invading a skin trader den, the ballrooms of dictator-ruled Germany, and fighting battles in the sky in the hopes of getting everything they want. Only thing they didn’t plan on… falling in love.

About Author:

Excerpt:
“Once upon a time….” Erika sang and waggled her eyebrows. “Come on, Sydney. Live a little. This club is smoking hot, and you’ll love it.”
Sydney grumbled under her breath and watched the club-goers parade past, each dressed like a fairy-tale character. The Little Mermaid trounced by in a see-through, diaphanous gown revealing too much in the way of personal attributes. Sleeping Beauty sashayed down the sidewalk with a leash around the neck of her Prince Charming. A woman in a way-too-short Red Riding Hood outfit approached. Her arm was wrapped around a seductress dressed in wolf ears, a tail, and a skimpy thong-style bikini. Red carried a basket full of what looked like pink fuzzy handcuffs and a can of whipped cream, which she swung into Syd.
“Hey!”
The red-cloaked vixen sent her a wink and traipsed on by, joined by a near-pornographic version of the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland. Any shorter and the skirt would show her naughty bits. Or maybe that was the plan.
Syd had just gotten off her day shift as a detective, and the last thing she wanted to do was be around more people. Especially people with more skin showing than on late-night cable shows. Her head hurt from the lights and the pulse of the music, and her stupid witch costume was pinching her toes. Erika’s scant fairy costume hugged all her curves, her breasts bursting from the bodice. The skirt barely covered her backside, and the strappy silver sandals showed off her silver-glitter nail polish.
The building loomed next to them. A giant warehouse-like structure, it was large enough to house all manner of mischief, and Syd was itching with the desire to get inside and find out just what was going on behind its doors. The sidewalk was flagged by trees lit up with twinkly white lights, adding an upscale ambiance to the area. What in the daylight looked like an industrial area gone to the dogs had been transformed into an attractive and well-attended venue.
She didn’t have the heart to tell Erika she’d been here once already today for the case she was working on, but the entrance had been sealed up tighter than a drum. Sydney’s recourse was to infiltrate Club Beam by night as a patron. Her sergeant, Debra, would kill her if she realized Syd had even considered going in without backup. So would her partner, James. Erika had asked her to come so she wouldn’t be alone, and, despite herself, Syd couldn’t resist. To catch a vampire, you had to go out at night, and Club Beam was the hot spot. After last month’s fuckup, she had to do this and do it right, even if it killed her. James was on medical leave, and it remained up to her to get this guy before someone else got killed or turned furry.
I will not think about becoming one of the terminally furry. It’s over. Move on. Take the pills the doctor gave you and freaking pray.
“Oh look. I think I see Snow White.” Erika stood on her tiptoes and craned her head along the huge expanse of line they still had to navigate to get inside.
Syd peered into the crowd and grimaced. Hairy legs. More makeup than a Mac commercial. “Nope. That was a guy in drag.”
Erika narrowed her eyes. “God, Syd. You’re the world’s biggest wet blanket ever.”
Sydney shifted her weight and moved another two steps toward the door as the line inched forward. “I told you, I’ve had a hard day. We had a homicide case come in, and I’ve been out beating the street. I want to go home and bury my head under my pillow. But, no. Out of the kindness of my heart, here I am standing in line at a vampire bar with a bunch of overgrown kids playing dress-up in fairy-tale fetish wear.”

One of My Pet Hates... Litter

By Lucy Felthouse

I know this blog is a mixed bag, and not just used for rants, but today I really feel like having one. A rant, that is. You see, one of my absolute pet hates is litter, and there's rather a lot of it about at the moment, which has inspired this post.

LitterIt really does drive me crazy. It looks horrible, is dangerous to wildlife and just makes an area look really grotty, even if it's not. I live fairly near a school, and although of course I can't prove who drops litter, there is an awful lot down the alleyway near me, and in other places where kids have to walk to get to school. I suspect a lot of it is teenagers showing off to their mates - especially since there's a bin in the alleyway they could use!

The trouble is, once an area has one piece of litter, it makes people think it's okay to drop more. I suppose the mental attitude is that "well, there's litter there already, so what's one more piece?" and it's not right, not fair. I constantly have to watch the ground when I'm walking locally to make sure I'm not going to tread in anything unpleasant (dog poo is a whole other rant - don't get me started!) or that my dog isn't going to eat something that someone's dropped. Okay, if he eats a crisp or something, it's not the end of the world, but chocolate is poisonous to dogs so I have to be really careful. I know councils won't put more bins in because people set fire to them, and then someone has to be paid to empty them, but I just wish they'd do something to make people have more respect. Can't they just stuff the rubbish in their pockets until they get to a bin?! That's what I do when I'm out walking. But then, it isn't people who love the countryside that make a mess - when I'm out in the Peak District or similar, there's very little litter - it's pretty much concentrated in towns and villages, and by the sides of roads. Clearly dropped by people that don't care if they're making the country look like a dump.

Busy roads are another place where there's lots of litter, i.e. duel carriageways and motorways. Of course, this means that it could be absolutely any motorist, but I've known a few people say that wagon drivers are particularly guilty of this, which is the most ridiculous thing of all. They have tons of room in their cabs, why can't they just throw it in the opposite footwell for the time being? Yeah it'll be messy for a while, but when they pull over where there's a bin, they can put the rubbish in the bin. But obviously they - and other people - don't, because when I'm driving down motorways and duel carriageways, the amount of rubbish by the side of the road has me clutching my steering wheel more tightly and grumbling to myself.

What's annoying about it is... what can we do about it? Yes, we could don gloves and grab litter pickers and go and pick it up, but we're busy people with busy lives and haven't got time to do it. Even if we had, it wouldn't help unless the attitudes of the people dropping the rubbish in the first place were changed. People need to be educated about litter, and councils need to do something to tackle it. I have thoughts on how people could be utilised to help clean up, but that's an ever so slightly political rant, so I'm going to steer clear.

I just really wish there was a perfect solution to the problem. Until there is a solution, I'm going to continue to moan about it, and do my little bit by picking up what the wind blows onto my property, and by putting my own rubbish where it belongs... in the bin.
